MTN 8 semi-finals: We’re down to the last four teams and Golden Arrows take on Sundowns at 5pm tomorrow, while 24 hours later Cape Town City come up against Moroka Swallows. This is the first of the two legs that will determine the finalists
The pick of this weekend’s round is definitely the match-up at Anfield between Liverpool and Chelsea, who are two of the four teams to have a 100 percent winning record at this stage. However, at least one of them will surrender that this weekend.

After a mid-season break the action returns this weekend with the Hungary F1 Grand Prix at the famous Hungaroring track. Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes and Max Verstappen in the Red Bull will again be the two main protagonists. Hamilton leads the Dutchman in the drivers’ standings by the slim margin of eight point (195 to 187).
Tokyo 2020 Paralympics
South Africa will get their medals tally moving on Saturday with a possible two gold medals. The hugely-talented 19-year-old Ntando Mahlangu is set to become a Paralympic legend and he competes in the long jump final, an event where he is the world record holder. Also a record holder in her class in the one-lap 400m is Anrune Weyers and she will be the favouriote to win gold despite having had Covid last month.
The main fight on this week’s UFC fight night card is in the featherweight division where Brazilian Edson Barboza (22-9) is a slight favourite to beat Georgia’s Giga Chikadze
There are three matches this weekend. On Saturday the action pits Griquas up against the Pumas, a game that is followed by the Bulls and the Cheetahs. Saturday is moving day in the golf with two events being held on opposite sides of the Atlantic. The third rounds of the European Tour’s European Masters and the PGA Tour’s BMW Championship take place and there are a number of South Africans who will be in action across the two events.
