Cricket: Pakistan won the ODI series 2-1 and will be full of confidence heading into the four-game T20 series. The Proteas confidence and fortunes have been further hit by the withdrawal of captain Temba Bavuma due to a hamstring injury that will keep him out, so Heinrich Klaasen is the stand-in skipper before Rassie van der Dussen returns next week. T20 is always a lottery and Pakistan will fancy their chances with key SA players having joined the IPL. The first match is at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Mumbai Indians: Quinton de Kock, Marco Jansen
RCB: AB de Villiers
Chennai Super Kings: Faf du Plessis, Lungi Ngidi, Imran Tahir
Delhi Capitals: Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje

UFC: The action in Las Vegas on Saturday night is headlined by the middleweight fight between Marvin Vettori (16-4-1) and Kevin Holland (21-6) and co-main is the featherweight bout between Arnold Allen (16-1) and Sodiq Yusuff (11-1). Vettori and Yusuff are the betting favourites.
Formula One: Round 2 of the 2021 season takes place at Imola in Italy with Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen renewing their rivalry that was on display in the opening event in Bahrain a fortnight ago. On that occasion seven-time Hamilton edged out his young rival but all indications are there’s (finally) not much to choose between the Mercedes and the Red Bull this season. Bring it on!
Golf: The Masters will come to its conclusion on Sunday night but there’s still plenty of twists and turns – there always is – before that. Just who will be handed the Green Jacket by defending champion Dustin Johnson is anyone’s guess, but for a punter the odds are always very generous. Good luck!
Horse racing: While there’s action at Turffontein on Saturday, the famous Grand National steeplechase race is run at Aintree tomorrow. There is a massive field of 40 runners, and there’s always huge drama. Take your pick but our fancies are Any second Now, Minella Times, Talkischeap and Canelo.
Soccer: There’s a full round of English Premiership matches this weekend (see our separate preview) while locally in the DStv Premiership there are 5 games, including today’s between Stellenbosch and AmaZulu. Follow our Twitter feed for all the results and latest standings.
Rugby: There are 4 “Super Rugby” games this weekend in Australia and New Zealand with the standout being that between the Hurricanes and Crusaders on Sunday morning (5.35am SA time). Tomorrow’s Reds vs Brumbies (11.45am) is a clash between Australia’s top two franchises.
